To get there, of course, we still need to generate another list of finalists. Recall that, a few months ago, many of you voted for the five Idle Time baseball greats worthy of Hall of Fame consideration. Now we’ll do the same for football. Expect one more poll like this, for the basketball nominees, sometime in January.
The twenty players on this list of football semifinalists represent each of the sixteen current teams in the league. Once the five finalists have been chosen, we’ll post some Idle Time résumés, like we did for baseball, as reference prior to casting votes.

The results of last week’s poll are in, and we now have the five baseball finalists for the 2014 Idle Time Hall of Fame induction.
Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Chase Utley, Justin Verlander, and Ian Kinsler will form the baseball column of the tri-sport ballot. They’ll be alongside five players from the football league, and five from basketball.
Like the BBWAA, you can vote for all, some, or none of the finalists. You’ll only vote for sports in which you participate. So, if you’re in all three leagues, you can check off boxes in all three columns. A player will need 75% of the ballots to gain entry into the HoF. Rather than create separate Halls for each of the three Idle Time leagues, we’ve decided to create one Idle Time Fantasy Hall of Fame to immortalize the greatest of the great. The inaugural Hall of Fame class will be voted on this September, sometime during the great Fantasy Convergence, the one time each year when all the stars and all the leagues intersect.
To narrow down the list of nominees, we’ll be posting polls like this. The top five players in each sport will then find themselves on the Official Ballot… and we’ll proceed from there. Voting process and number of elected members still TBD.
The twenty-three players on this list of baseball semifinalists represent each of the sixteen current teams in the league. Check out the individual team pages for a quick summary of their tenure with those clubs.
